Instrumental Music

Numurkah Secondary College boasts 4 specialised instrumental part-time music teachers who offer their services to students on a wide variety of instruments. Tuition is sustained on a weekly timetable which is developed to ensure that students do not miss out on the same class every week. Instruments currently on offer (but are not limited to) include: keyboard, guitar, percussion, clarinet, flute, trumpet, as well as singing lessons.

Over the next term and beyond, we are looking forward to developing a choir for the students who are involved in singing lessons, as well as creating ensembles for the instrumental students in order for them to develop their performance skills as a part of a team and to encourage socialisation between peers who have a similar passion for music. We strongly support the Rock band venture as well as nurturing the Classical genre.

Numurkah Secondary College encourages and supports any student of any year level to take up learning a musical instrument. We have been delighted to see student participation in learning an instrument almost double over the 2010 year, as learning a musical instrument is an extremely rewarding experience and the benefits can last a lifetime.
