Numurkah Community Learning Centre

Throughout the year a group of Numurkah Secondary College VCAL students have been busy working to renovate Numurkah’s Community Learning Centre (NCLC) at 13 Murray Ave Numurkah. This was undertaken as part of a Personal Development unit studied during first semester.

A close partnership between the NCLC and the Secondary College has provided the platform whereby students have had to opportunity to incorporate the building restorations as part of their studies. The renovated building will be used as a classroom for courses run through the NCLC, as well as being available for use by the local community. The work carried out included; removing a wall, raising the floor, removing windows and replacing them with a sliding door. The community now has a great facility and students have gained valuable experience through exposure to a variety of different tasks and trades.
