Outstanding Academic Results: Numurkah Secondary College is concerned with the academic growth of all students. Our strong focus on teaching the skills of learning through our “Learning to Learn” program has seen strong academic growth across the College, with region topping academic results in recent years.
Outstanding Preparation for Future Pathways: We are very proud of our College’s record for preparing and positioning our students well for their future. Past students have achieved academic and career success in an incredibly diverse range of pathways. Last year, many of our VCE students received ‘early offers’ to University courses and are now enjoying life as a University student. We are delighted that we have had an increase in the number of Year 12 students choosing to go on to University over the past three years.
Above state average VCE results in Food Technology, Physical Education, Studio Art and Psychology. Others have chosen to move into further education and training through TAFE and Apprenticeship opportunities. A number of students are often in the enviable position of having employers hold apprenticeship positions open for them while they completed their VCE or VCAL Certificates, as was the case for one of our recent College Captains. Our new Trade Training Centre will support outstanding opportunities for Numurkah Secondary College students to complete vocational training certificates on site in Engineering. Many students of other Colleges must travel to the Shepparton TEC to complete these courses.
