2020 First Day Student / Parent Conferences In 2020 the College will be introducing House Based Home Rooms to ensure there is individual care and attention for every student. Cross-aged Home Groups will meet together each morning with Home Group Leaders, to monitor your student’s learning progress and wellbeing. Home Group Leaders will be a key point of contact for parents and caregivers.
To establish a foundation for successful learning, Numurkah Secondary College will be holding Student/Parent/Home Group Leader Conferences in 2020.
The First Day Conferences will take place on Thursday 30th January 2020 between 2.30 pm and 6.00 pm.
The purpose of these conferences is to enable all students, parents and Home Group Leaders to have an opportunity to establish and continue to develop their relationships. It will also help us to develop a better understanding of your child and their individual needs at the beginning of the school year.
We will discuss responsibilities and expectations for the year and also ensure students and parents can access COMPASS so that attendance, student learning goals, timetables and school reports can be easily accessed.
The distribution of Numurkah Secondary College planners, student timetables and locker allocations will take place on this day.
Attendance on this day is compulsory. Please contact the general office on Tuesday the 28th of January if this date is not suitable and we will endeavour to set up another time for your family.
There will be no scheduled classes on this day. All enrolled students, accompanied by at least one parent/guardian are asked to come to school and meet with their Homeroom Teacher for a 15 minute conference. Parents and students are asked to to meet in the school foyer on arrival to school, between 2.30pm and 6.00pm, where you will be directed to your 2020 Home Room class.
The first day of classes for 2020 is Friday the 31st of January.
